A Street that Made Us
Some friendships stretch across decades, shaped by neighborhoods, shared memories, and the quiet understanding that comes from growing up side by side. This session was special to me because it was for the daughter of one of my oldest friends. We grew up on the same street, long before cameras, careers, and families of our own. Seeing his daughter step into her senior year felt like watching time fold in on itself in the best possible way.
During their visit to Palm Springs for a family gathering, we carved out time for her graduation portraits. She carried a light, childlike spirit throughout the shoot and even brought along her oldest toy as a prop, a small reminder of the years that led to this moment. She took direction naturally, and we found a few simple backdrops around the city that let her personality come through. I’m grateful to my friend and his wife for trusting me with these photographs. Over the years, his wife has become family by proxy, and capturing this milestone for their daughter felt like honoring a friendship that has come full circle.
