A Stroll on Campus

Some photo sessions feel a little more meaningful when you have had the privilege of watching someone grow over the years. This young lady has been featured on my website several times, and it has been an honor to document different milestones along her journey. After earning her high school diploma, she chose to hold this session at the university where she will begin her next chapter. Her goal is to enter the teaching profession, and I have no doubt she will make a positive impact on the lives of future students.

One of the things that stood out during this session was how proudly she embraced her Mexican American heritage. She wore a serape sash and decorated her graduation cap to reflect her culture and the pride she carries in her family's roots. As always, her mother was by our side helping throughout the session, and it was clear this day meant everything to her. Watching her daughter reach this milestone was an emotional experience and a reminder of how quickly time passes. Her family has every reason to be proud of the young woman she has become, and as her photographer, I am proud as well. I have been fortunate enough to watch her grow through the years, while my daughter has grown fond of this family and always wants to be there when we photograph their special moments. Moments like these remind me that photography is about much more than pictures. It is about preserving the pride, accomplishments, and memories that become part of a family's story.
