Finally Free

Sometimes a photo session comes together unexpectedly. This one happened last minute after a photographer friend had to cancel due to work travel keeping him longer than expected. By the time I arrived, it had already been a long day for me, my third shoot of the day, and I was definitely feeling the exhaustion. But some shoots have a way of bringing fresh energy with them.

This high school graduate made things easy. In between photos, she mentioned more than once just how happy she was that high school was finally over. I remember that feeling. It is a mix of excitement and the feeling that something big was coming soon. With those feelings, she stepped in front of the lens with confidence and did incredibly well throughout the session. Moments like these always feel bigger than photographs. I hope she follows her dreams and finds success in whatever path she chooses next.
