The Start of Something

I’ve known her since she was a little girl, watching her grow under the care of her mom and stepdad into someone thoughtful, focused, and driven. Seeing her graduate with her degree in biology felt like watching that story come into focus. She didn’t stop there. She went on to complete her Master’s and step into the world of science, building something real for herself with quiet determination.

This was my first graduation session, and I’ll be honest, I didn’t have much confidence at the time. I was experimenting with everything, trying to figure it out as I went. She started serious and composed, but I told her to just have fun. That’s who I had always known her to be. Some of the photos leaned a little silly, but they were honest. They were her. That was the point. I’ll always be grateful to her and her family for trusting me with this, especially when I was still finding my way behind the camera.
