Cruise Night in Colton

This set came together during a monthly cruise night in Colton, California, where local car clubs gather at the VFW for a community fundraiser. Lowriders line the streets and cruise the block while the neighborhood comes out to support the VFW and celebrate a piece of Inland Empire car culture.

That evening a young woman who works as a social media influencer had returned home to Colton for a visit and wanted to experience the cruise night atmosphere again. We put together a quick ten minute set right there among the cars and crowd. My daughter was with me that night as we photographed the lowriders and the people who make the scene what it is. These images came from that brief moment, a reminder that sometimes the best photographs happen when you least expect them.
