Before the Sun Falls

Prom night came with the expectation of rain, but the skies over Redlands held steady, giving us a clear afternoon at the old historic train depot. The location was active with other shoots, but we carved out our space and kept things moving. The young woman in front of my lens is someone I have watched grow up, which always adds a layer to the experience. It is not just about the photos at that point, but recognizing a moment in time that has been building for years.

They kept it fun and easy, moving through the setting without forcing anything, letting their connection carry the session. There was no need to overcomplicate it. The structure of the depot, the movement around us, and the natural rhythm between them did the work. As the light shifted toward the end of the day, it became less about chasing anything perfect and more about documenting a piece of their story before the sun falls.
