The Dress That Waited

I first met this young woman while doing street photography, and over time I came to admire the determination and work ethic she carries as she continues to grow into adulthood. After prom had already passed, she realized she never had the chance to take photos in her dress. Rather than let that moment slip by, she decided to create it anyway.

We photographed these portraits in Bloomington, a place that is meaningful to her and part of her story. It was a short session, but one that turned a missed opportunity into something lasting. Sometimes the moment doesn’t happen when we expect it to, but photography gives us a way to pause and still capture it.
