One Last Prom

Some photo shoots feel familiar in the best way. This one was for a young lady making her way to her final prom, someone who has been featured on this website before and who I’ve had the privilege of photographing for the last few years. Somewhere between those early shoots and now, I’ve watched her grow into an incredible young adult. Along the way, I’ve also had the chance to get to know her family, which always makes these moments feel a little more personal. There’s something special about documenting someone’s milestones when you’ve been lucky enough to witness part of the journey.

What stood out to me this time around was catching something a little different. She almost always brings a serious look to photos, but every now and then, I caught her smiling, and those moments felt honest. As she heads toward graduation and college, I genuinely hope she always sees her own worth and continues doing well in whatever path she chooses. I’m already looking forward to photographing her graduation session in the near future and seeing what comes next for this kid.

The cover image for this set was captured by my daughter, who loves tagging along on shoots and photographing this young lady whenever she gets the chance. Over the years, she’s enjoyed watching her grow too, and was excited to capture a moment from her final prom.
